I am deeply honored to introduce myself as Jami Hasty, the principal of Mustang Trails Elementary. It is a privilege to serve the Mustang Community as the leader of this incredible school. I take great pride in having dedicated my entire educational career to the Mustang school district.

Before stepping into the role of head principal, I spent three years as the assistant principal at Trails. Prior to that, I devoted 18 years to teaching special education, where I had the pleasure of collaborating with many dedicated faculty members, administrators, and students. My time in the classroom was invaluable, and the lessons I learned continue to shape me as an educator. Even now, as an administrator, I am constantly learning from our staff, students, parents, and community members. I firmly believe that as long as we keep an open heart and mind, there is always something new to learn. The day I stop learning is the day I'll know it's time to step aside.

Although I spend a lot of time at school, my heart is always with my family when I'm not there. I have a wonderful husband and two amazing children. My husband, who shares my passion for education, has been an educator for over 25 years and currently teaches physical education at Meadow Brook Intermediate. We feel incredibly fortunate to be working and growing professionally within the same school district. We're also proud that both of our children attended Mustang Public Schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. As a parent, I can genuinely say that Mustang has the finest teachers, administrators, counselors, and staff members in the state!

As a long-time Bronco and member of the Mustang community, I am proud to uphold the district's traditions and continue the legacy of Mustang Trails as a wonderful place for learning and growth.

I am thrilled to continue to serve as as the Assistant Principal of Trails Elementary! I became a Mustang Bronco in 2021, but have over eighteen years of experience in education.  I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the students and families of this wonderful community! I was born and raised a Bronco and coming back home gives me great pride!

Prior to coming to Mustang, I served as an Assistant Principal in Western Heights for 6 years and, before that, was a Special Education Teacher and Coordinator, also in Western Heights. I received a Bachelor of Science in Education and an M.Ed in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Oklahoma. All of my experience has been focused on PreK-6th grade.

When I am not working, I love spending time with my husband and son! I enjoy all things OSU, spending time at the lake, and reading. I truly believe that a strong partnership between school and home is an essential element to student success. I look forward to serving the students and families of Trails and honoring the long-standing traditions of Mustang! It's a great day to be a Bronco!
