Mustang High School (MHS) Freshman Biology Students Reach Out To Support Total Stranger

(Mustang, Oklahoma – October 15, 2019) – When freshman Biology teachers began planning to teach Natural Selection with a focus on Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria, they knew they would need to make it interesting and relevant to students.  After much research, they decided on a case study of an Arizona teenager who the students would relate to as a peer. In the end, this lesson became about much more than Science as students reached out to “Addie” to offer support and well-wishes.

State Representative Jay Steagall & Senator Paul Rosino Visit Centennial Functional Skills Classroom

(Mustang, Oklahoma – October 10, 2019) – Functional Learning Skills (FLS) Teacher, Mr. Ryan Smith, recently invited several Oklahoma lawmakers to visit his classroom at Mustang Centennial Elementary, and two took him up on the offer. On Friday, September 27, 2019, Rep. Jay Steagall visited Centennial and Mr. Smith’s  FLS class to join the students in a cooking demonstration.

Boeing Grants Over $11,900 To Mustang Robotics Programs

(Mustang, Oklahoma – October 8, 2019) – For years educators have wrestled with the concept that they are preparing the next generation of workers for a world that doesn’t currently exist.  For example, when the Class of 2020 entered Kindergarten there was no iPhone, Sony & AmericaOnline has just partnered to bring the first online content to PlayStation 2 gaming consoles, and Facebook was still three years from being founded.  With the fast pace of today’s ever-changing world, one key skill that schools must focus upon is problem solving, and Mustang Public Schools uses their Robotics Programs as one avenue to teach this invaluable skill.

2017 Bond Allows Mustang High School To Open State-of-the-Art Science Academy

(Mustang, Oklahoma – October 7, 2019) – Mustang Public Schools is pleased to announce that it has taken another project from its 2017 Bond, which was overwhelmingly supported by the voters of the city, from vision to reality with the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for the Mustang High School Science Academy.  The ceremony was held at 1:00pm on October 7, 2019 in front of the new building.

Mustang High School Hosts Third Annual Senior Conference

(Mustang, Oklahoma – October 4, 2019) – As the Class of 2020 moves ever closer to that grand walk across the stage in May, they paused today to learn one of many lessons that will help prepare them for when they turn those tassels and throw their caps.  Mustang High School (MHS) hosted its third annual Senior Conference on October, 4, 2019 at The Bridge Church in Mustang. This unique learning experience gave over 650 Seniors the chance to spend a day learning about what they wanted from local business people, community experts and civic leaders.
